The General Settings determine document parameters:

The Conform to Specification parameter determines the specifications to which converted files conform:

 

Auto enables PDF-XChange Standard to select specifications automatically.

The second option is a group of settings that conform to versions 1.3 through 1.7 of Adobe Acrobat.

The third option is a group of settings that conform to PDF/A - 1b PDF specifications for the RGB Colorspace. See here for further information.

 

The Page Layout parameter determines the page layout of documents:

 

Viewer Default sets the page layout to the default settings of the program used to view printed documents.

Single Page displays documents a single page at a time.

One Column displays documents in a single column and consecutive pages can be viewed simultaneously.

Two Pages (Cover Page) sets the first page as a cover page and displays the remaining pages two pages at a time

Two Pages displays documents two pages at a time.

Two Columns (Cover Page) sets the first page as a cover page and displays remaining pages in two columns.

Two Columns displays documents in two columns.

 

The Page Mode parameter determines the document areas displayed when documents are opened and the manner in which they are displayed:

 

Pages view only displays only the document pages.

Show Bookmarks displays document pages and bookmarks.

Show Thumbnails displays document pages and thumbnails.

Full Screen opens documents in full screen mode.

 

The Full Screen Page Mode parameter determines the document areas displayed when documents are opened in full screen mode:

 

Pages view only displays only the document pages.

Show Bookmarks displays document pages and bookmarks.

Show Thumbnails displays document pages and thumbnails.

Show Layers Panel displays document pages and the layers panel.

 

The Magnification parameter determines the magnification format when documents are opened:

 

Default displays documents at the default magnification level.

Actual Size displays documents at their physical size.

Fit Page fits pages to the document window.

Fit Width uses the page width to fit pages.

Fit Height uses the page height to fit pages

Level displays documents at the zoom level determined in the adjacent number box.

 

Further Options

 

The Open to Page option determines the page at which documents are opened.

The Transition option determines how pages are browsed in full screen mode. Select an option from the dropdown menu and use the number boxes to determine the duration parameters.

The Viewer Preferences check boxes determine visible elements and document window settings.

 

Click Apply to apply changes and OK to save changes.
