Overlays


 

Main-Image Overlays

 


 

The Overlays settings are used to overlay PDF files. This process enables the insertion of elements such as company letterhead. Overlays can be used in conjunction with pre-prepared forms to overlay text from word processors, spread sheets, databases and similar media. Click Overlays to determine overlay settings:

Select the Overlay with an existing PDF File box to create new overlays.

Use the Overlay File text box, or click Browse, to select a file to overlay.

If selected files are password protected then enter the password in the Password to open protected file text box.

Select the Place Overlay File as Foreground box to place overlays in document foregrounds. Clear the box to place overlays in document backgrounds.

Use the Repeat Options setting to determine the outcome when there are fewer pages in the overlay document than the PDF document:

Select No Repeat to leave additional pages without a watermark.

Select Repeat Last Page of Shorter Overlay File to repeat the final page of the overlay document on additional pages.

Select Continuous Repeat of Shorter Overlay File to repeat the overlay document from its first page on additional pages.

The Positions options determine position of the overlay file relative to the PDF document:

By Horizontal determines the horizontal position.

By Vertical determines the vertical position.

Select the Fit Overlay Pages to Newly Created Document Pages box to fit overlays to match the size of the pages that they overlay.

Select the Keep Aspect Ratio box to retain the original aspect ratio overlays.

 

Click Apply to apply changes and OK to save changes.
