The graphics settings are used to change the DPI (dots per inch) for document images or convert them into different image formats. The options for High Color/Grayscale Images, Indexed Images and Monochrome Image are as follows:

Use the Downsampling dropdown menu to determine the downsampling format:

Linear downsampling is the fastest method but produces the lowest quality output.

Bilinear downsampling takes longer than linear downsampling but produces higher-quality output.

Bicubic downsampling takes the longest, especially when downsampling large files, but achieves results of the highest quality.

Use the upper pixels per inch box to determine the resolution to which images are downsampled.

Use the lower pixels per inch box to determine the resolution above which images are downsampled.

Use the Conversion dropdown menu to determine the format to which images are converted.
