Add Digital Signature

The Add Digital Signature action adds digital signatures to documents to demonstrate authenticity and enhance security. The following options are available when this action is placed in the Tool Actions Sequence:

Click All Options to determine further options:

The Select Certificate options determine the source of the certificate used:

Select Use Certificate from System Store to use a certificate located on the system store.

Select Use Certificate from File to use a certificate located on the local computer.

Click the View Certificate button to view the current certificate.

Click Create Certificate to create a new certificate.

The Setup Details and Appearance for Signature options determine the content and layout of signature information:

Select an option from the Reason for Signing dropdown menu to include a reason for adding digital signatures to documents.

Enter details in the Location and Contact Info text boxes as desired.

Select an option from the Permissions dropdown menu to determine editing permissions that the digital signature allows.

Use the Sign Template option to determine the digital signature layout. Click Manage to edit/clone existing templates.

Select the Use Timestamp Server box to use a timestamp server for digital signatures. Select an option from the URL dropdown menu or click Change to add a new timestamp server.

The Specify Placement Options determine the placement of digital signatures:

The To Page number box determines the page number on which the digital signature appears. Select the To Last Page box to add the signature to the last page of the document.

The location at which the signature will appear is indicated in the preview pane. Adjust the number boxes beneath the pane to determine the location of the signature and the dimensions of the signature field.

 

Click OK to save settings. Then, in the Edit Tools window:

 

Click cmd.save.24 Save Changes to save new settings.

Click cmd.close.24 Close Edit to end the current edit and revert to previous settings.
